Single Use Operating Permit (SUOP)

Airfield Permits – Single Use Operating Permit (SUOP) 


What is it?

As its name implies, a SUOP provides an air carrier permission to conduct a single operation. The Permits Unit issues SUOP's for LAX. A carrier may use a maximum of 5 SUOP's per calendar year. Prolonged use of SUOP's can incur Custom fees.


Who gets it?

Carriers interested in one-time or very infrequent operations, such as a charter not to exceed 5 times per calendar year.


Who doesn't get it?

1. Scheduled passenger or cargo aircraft.
2. Private ("GA") aircraft.
3. Air Carriers operating in excess of 5 times per year
