LAX ENCOURAGES GUESTS TO SUPPORT LA-BASED SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS ON SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
(Los Angeles, CA) In anticipation of Small Business Saturday, a national celebration of the local, small, business that are a critical part of our economy, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) encourages airport guests to support LAX's many L.A.-based and locally-owned and operated small businesses during this bustling holiday weekend.

“LAX is committed to providing a diverse selection of shopping and dining options for our guests that reflect the local brands and flavors that make Southern California so special," said Jeffrey Utterback, Deputy Executive Director of the Commercial Developement Group, LAWA. "Small Business Saturday is an opportunity to savor an exclusively local taste or shop at a one-of-a-kind Los Angeles retailer, while simultaneously supporting our local communities and economy."

More than 3.2 million passengers are expected to travel through LAX during the 14-day Thanksgiving travel period. With more than 190 total airport shops and food and beverage locations, many of which can be found only in Los Angeles, there is something for everyone to choose from. A full list of shopping and dining options can be found at FlyLAX.com.

LAX is also helping airport guests get value out of their Thankgiving holiday trip with deals at various shops and restaurants. While individual special offers will change, airport guests are encouraged to ask employees about "Eat.Shop.Save." deals and discounts that can be found at participating locations. Click here to find current "Eat.Shop.Save" deals and discounts.

Here are some of the uniquely LA business that guests can enjoy at LAX:
Retailer LA Original (located in Terminal 1 and Tom Bradley International Terminal) is where guests can shop from a collection of LA-based products made by diverse artists and makers from across the city. Funds from LA Original support the Downtown Women's Center MADE by DWC program, which is a purpose driven social enterprise that empowers women in Los Angeles to break the cycle of chronic homelessness through employement.
LAX's newest culinary addition, Wing Society (located on the south side of the LAX-it lot, across the street from Terminal 1), was founded by Chef Ace, an engineer turned chef and minority small business owner. Wing Society provides fresh and never-frozen chicken wings (bone-in and boneless) as well as flavorful vegetarian and vegan options, including tender-massaged rainbow kale garden salads and coconut-fried rice bowls. Because the food truck is located on the south side of the LAX-it lot, it's accessible to the general public - no boarding pass needed!
Cassell's Hamburgers is a local crown jewel of Los Angeles' culinary kingdom with a reputation for quality ingredients and pitch-perfect plates that have made it the darling of food critics across the nation. This is Cassell's third location (located in Terminal 1), which opened just last year. Aside from its classic hamburgers, guests can enjoy other selections, such as patty melts, grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, salads, breakfast sandwiches and milk shakes.
Award-winning and Southern California-based Klatch Coffee (located in Terminal 7) was first brewed by Mike Perry, a bio-chemical engineering grad from University of California at Riverside, who applied what he learned in his engineering courses to found the business in 1993. Airport guests can complement Klatch's premium and USDA National Organic coffee with fresh fruit, amazing sandwiches, paninis and avocado toast, or with freshly baked muffins, scones and cookies. Klatch Coffee at LAX is operated by Crews, a minority-owned, US-based hospitality company with a team of local chefs who have a passion to exceed our guests' expectations with unparalleled culinary experiences.
I Love L.A. (located in Terminals 1 and 5) is owned and operated by Soto & Sanchez, a three-member team of native Angelenos who are also second-generation Latinx business owners. I Love LA offers a wide array of gifts and reading options with an impressive newstand. Whether it's an LAX guest's first stop or their last glimpse of the Los Angeles before takeoff, this location offers pieces of Los Angeles from the latest trends and local sports team merchandise to replicas that scream, "I Love L.A.!"
Southern California favorite Beaming Cafe (located in Terminal 1) is a leader in health and wellness, offering a plant-based menu that offers organic, gluten and dairy-free options. Their selection features a signature acai bowl, superfood smoothies, salads, hot beverages, cold pressed juices and shots that provide airport guests the opportunity to detox and reset. Powered by purity and simplicity, Beaming believes that what you put into your body is what you get out of it.
