LAX FLYAWAY® BUS STOP AT UNION STATION TO BE TEMPORARILY RELOCATED

 

(Los Angeles, California – December 24, 2012) Riders who use the LAX FlyAway® service at Union Station are being notified that the bus stop will be temporarily relocated on December 29, January 5, January 12 and January 26 to the Amtrak Thruway Bus Station to accommodate a planned renovation project.

To reach the LAX FlyAway® on those dates riders should:

1.    Go to the Amtrak baggage claim area

1.    Go through the second door on the left leading to the North Patio

2.    Make an immediate right and walk to the Amtrak Thruway Bus Station

3.    On arrival at the Amtrak Thruway Bus Station walk to Aisle 5 located at the end of the Bus Park bays. 

LAX FlyAway® officials noted that there will also be signage within the facility directing passengers to the Amtrak FlyAway® Bus. There will be no changes to the stops at LAX.

The renovation project involves six cooling towers being replaced on the roof of Metro Headquarters at Union Station.  On those days, a helicopter will be used to bring the old cooling towers down and lift the new cooling towers and related equipment onto the roof of Metro Headquarters.
