Traffic Generation Report

The LAX Traffic Generation Report is a requirement of the Los Angeles International Airport Specific Plan. This annual report identifies the number of trips generated by LAX, the number of trips anticipated to be generated at the completion of any LAX Master Plan Project(s) in development at the time of the report, the number of trips proposed to be generated following the implementation of the LAX Master Plan as informed by current and project-based trip counts, and the number of trips anticipated to be generated by on-going LAX Master Plan construction activities. Vehicle trips are counted during Fridays in August, which is the “design day” that is used for airport planning, and is consistent with the methodology used in the LAX Master Plan. Traffic is counted in the Central Terminal Area and in more than 60 airport–related driveways in and around the airport.
