Team LAWA is the department's official employee volunteer program. The Community Relations team facilitates opportunities for employees to volunteer by incorporating the values of teamwork, community service, and stewardship. With dedicated workforce of over 3,000 employees, Team LAWA volunteers at various events such as the L.A Marathon, Health & Fitness Expo, Coastal Cleanup Day, March of Dimes & Homeless Walks, and St. Margaret's Holiday Party including Special Olympics, Pow Wow and the arrival of the Space Shuttle Endeavor at LAX.
