Frequently Available Airport Jobs

There are basic requirements that all potential candidates should possess to work at any airport location:

1. At least 18 years old

2. Right to work status in the U.S.

3. Ability to pass a drug test

4. Ability to successfully pass a 10-year security screening (no felony convictions)

5. Flexibility in schedule and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

6. Reliable transportation due to various schedules. Some buses do not operate during certain hours.

7. Customer service experience (desired but not required)

8. Professional appearance

9. Class B driver’s license (for Shuttle Bus positions);

10. Bilingual (maybe required for some positions)



We work directly with local Worksource Centers, One-Stop Centers, community and faith-based organizations to find pre-screened, pre-qualified and badgeable people for employment consideration.

Air Traffic Controller – Guides the aircraft and advises pilots of wind and weather conditions (FAA)

Aircraft Fueler – Works on the tarmac fueling aircraft (ASIG, G-2, Penauille Servisair, Swissport)

Airport Police Officer – Sworn position that patrols the areas in and around the airport (LAWA)

Ambassador – Assists the travelling public by providing information (LAWA)

Baggage Runner – Moves luggage from the aircraft to the terminals (G-2, ASIG, Eagle Security)

Barista – Creates coffee and other beverages (Starbucks, Eurotal)

Cabin Cleaners – Pick-up and remove refuse from seat-back pockets, cabin, galleys and lavatories. Empty trash receptacles. Clean lavatories and galleys on commercial aircraft. Vacuum floors, wipe down food trays, fold blankets, arrange seatbelts and recover passenger headrests and pillows. (G-2, ASIG, Swissport)

Cashier – Rings up purchases made by passengers at gift shops, eateries, or retail locations (HMS Host, Hudson News, McDonald’s, Eurotal, Crews of California)

Cook – Prepares meals in the restaurants or fast food locations (Chili’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Daily Grill, Burger King)

Counter Manager – Retail sales person in charge of brand-name merchandise (Duty Free Shops, I Love LA)

Customer Service Agent (Car Rental) – Rents vehicles to the travelling public (Avis, Budget, Alamo, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Advantage, Dollar, Thrifty)

Customs and Border Patrol Agent – Checks all incoming passengers to insure no foreign foods or plant life are brought into the US (Department of Homeland Security)

Dispatcher – Maintains contact with shuttle drivers to assist in the movement of passengers (all car rental)

Fast Food Attendant – Serves food at eateries in the terminal area (McDonald’s, Burger King)

Flight Attendant – Provides service to passengers on all flights; maintains safe and comfortable environment (all airlines)

Greeter – Checks in customers at car rental locations and provides directions (all car rental)

Ground Service Mechanic – Maintain, repair, perform maintenance (preventive and on-demand) on aircraft ground support equipment (motorized and non-motorized, gasoline and diesel fueled). To include, but not limited to, troubleshooting, tune-up, modification and overhaul of power-plant, drive-train, electric and hydraulic systems. (all airlines)

Host/Hostess – Seats patrons at restaurants (California Pizza Kitchen, Daily Grill, Chili’s)

Passenger Services Agent - Provide customer services for airline passengers including but not limited to reservations, ticketing, baggage service and processing, terminal and gate check-in processing, greeting arriving international flight, handling of VIPs, jetway operation and providing special passenger assistance as required. (all airlines)

Pilot – Navigates the aircraft from point to point, maintains safety of the passengers (all airlines)

Ramp Agent – Responsible for the accurate routing of luggage and cargo to aircraft. Assist passengers delivering wheelchairs, baby strollers up jetways. (all airlines)

Rental Sales Agent – Assists travelers with the acquisition of rental cars (all car rental)

Reservation Agent (Airlines) – Assists passengers with the purchase of tickets; checks in passengers for outgoing flights (all airlines)

Sales Associate (Retail) – Performs all aspects of retail sales in a gift shop or bookstore including counter sales, light stocking, inventory, etc. (Crews of California, DFS, Hudson News, I Love LA)

Sales Supervisor – Responsible for the management of a sales team at gift shops or bookstores; also assist in the training and development of personnel (Crews of California, DFS, Hudson News, I Love LA)

Sales Support - Assists with the general back office operation of a store. Duties include but are not limited to warehouse, inventory control and stocking. May be tasked to work on the sales floor during times of heavy passenger traffic. (Crews of California, DFS, Hudson News, I Love LA)

Security Guard – Maintains safety and security of designated area(s) under their control. (Eagle Security Services)

Server – Brings food orders to customers at restaurants or fast food locations. (all eateries)

Service Agent (Car Rental) – Inspects rental cars upon return and may perform routine maintenance as needed. (all car rental)

Shuttle Driver – Transports passengers from parking lots, hotels or car rental agencies to and from the terminal areas; may require a Class B driver’s license in some cases. (Penauille Servisair, all hotels and car rental agencies)

Transportation Screener – Screens passengers, monitors and x-rays carry on items and is the first line of security for the traveling public (Department of Homeland Security – Transportation Safety Administration - TSA).

Utility Cleaner (Food Service) - Buses tables at eateries; ensures areas are clean and trash is removed. (all eateries)

Visual Trimmer – Dresses store front window displays; creates themes to promote products (Duty Free Shops, Hudson News)

Warehouse Associate - Maintains store inventories and pulls product for placement on the sales floor. Responsible for stocking store shelves and pricing merchandise.
