Terrorist Threat Watch


In 2016, it is assessed that terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda and 
Islamic State will remain fixated on targeting commercial airlines 
and airports. Islamic State has claimed that the October 2015 mid-
flight destruction of Russian Metrojet 9268 was the result of 
compromising Sharm El Sheikh International Airport security 
protocols. Therefore, it is highly recommended you stay observant, 
follow all the security measures obtained in training, challenge 
anyone who does not have a badge, notify Airport Police of 
suspicious persons, packages, or incidents, and put the LAWA
