String Theory

September 22 & 23, 2012

The Van Nuys Flyaway

String Theory is a collaborative ensemble of musicians and dancers that uses giant invented instruments and sonic sculptures to transform environments and architecture into large-scale performance installations. At the LAX FlyAway®, String Theory presents a site-specific performance installation by transforming the bus terminal into a giant stringed harp instrument using their signature Curve Harp ignited by live music and dance. The ensemble was founded by instrument designer/builder and composer Luke Rothschild; choreographer/director Holly Rothschild; and cellist and composer Joseph Harvey.
