The Van Nuys Flyaway

Flyway Home is a site-specific dance, light projection and music piece directed and choreographed by Sarah Elgart. Dancers engage in an interactive production incorporating the outdoor space and architecture of the bus terminal, as well as original music by Feltlike and large-scale projections by artist Stephen Glassman. Dancers move through the bus terminal facilities and open-air areas, while travelers make their way to their destinations. A display of light patterns and images projected onto the exterior of the bus terminal’s multi-level parking structure transform the structure into a large-scale projection screen.

Elgart has created work for dance, theater and film, including site-specific performances in downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Woodland Hills, as well as at the Mark Taper Forum and The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Flyaway Home features dancers: Hai Cohen, Alexandria Diaz de Fato, Ja Young Kim, Andi Schermoly and Evan Swenson.
