TWO NEW AIRPORT POLICE RECRUITS GRADUATED FROM LAPD ACADEMY
(Los Angeles, California – April 20, 2012) Two new police recruits joined the ranks of Los Angeles Airport Police today, following their graduation from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Academy Class 11-11 at Elysian Park.
The new officers are Craig Cdebaca and Ivan Cornejo. They were sworn in by Airport Police Chief Michael Hyams at the graduation ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were Airport Police Captain Latasha Wells-Amerson, Sergeant’s Daniel Romo and Joe Espita, and other Airport Police personnel.
Chief Hyams said, “We are very proud to have new additions join the Airport Police family”.
The Los Angeles Airport Police Division is the fourth largest law enforcement agency in Los Angeles County, with more than 1,100 law enforcement, security and staff personnel. Airport Police is a division of Los Angeles World Airports, the City department that owns and operates three airports in Southern California: Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys (general aviation).
