The award recognizes extraordinary individuals for significant contribution to the field of aviation security in ways that facilitate innovative protective strategies.
Sgt. Boisselle is a 12-year veteran of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Police Division, assigned to the Vulnerability Assessment and Analysis Unit of the Homeland Security Section at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). "I am very proud that Sgt. Boisselle was selected from among the many nominees for this award by such a prestigious international group," said Airport Police Chief George R. Centeno. "He has shown great dedication to the division over the years and is worthy of such a significant award."
As a result of his efforts, LAX is noted worldwide for the development of the ARMOR (Assistant for Randomized Monitoring Over Routes) Program. LAX also was named TSA Airport of the Year in 2009.
Sgt. Boisselle is considered a subject-matter expert in the area of airport regulations and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Directives. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management from Union Institute University.
Representing the United States on the 12-member-nation International Awards of Excellence in Aviation Security panel, Erroll Southers, TAL Global Managing Director of Counter-Terrorism and Infrastructure Protection, said, “I echo the sentiments of my international Colleagues when I say Sgt. Boisselle is an extraordinarily accomplished professional and deserving of this honor. He is a credit to his agency, the aviation security community and our nation.”
