LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE HONOR GUARD PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS’ MEMORIAL IN WASHINGTON D.C.
(Los Angeles, California – May 20, 2011) Two Honor Guard officers represented the Los Angeles Airport Police Division at the annual National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial event in Washington, D.C., May 12-15, in tribute to all officers killed in the line of duty, including Airport Police Officer Tommy E. Scott killed in 2005.
Honor Guard officers Thomas Dye and Kendra Williams participated in several activities conducted during memorial week, including guarding the Memorial Wall and a wreath-laying ceremony. Also at the Memorial events were Airport Police employees Madeleine Flanagan and Peggy Doran, and Sergeants William Handley and Clint Beacom. Sergeant Robert Richardson donated a photograph of Officer Tommy E. Scott placed at the Memorial Wall during the ceremony.
Officers Michael Dear and Kendra Williams and Sgt. Joe Espitia rode in the Police Unity Tour, in which hundreds of law enforcement officers from throughout the U.S. ride bicycles more than 300 miles over four days into Washington, D.C., to honor all fallen officers.
