LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE SWEARS IN A NEW POLICE OFFICER

(Los Angeles, California - August 4, 2017) This morning, a new Police Officer joined the ranks of Los Angeles Airport Police Department following the graduation of class 2-17 from Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Elysian Park Academy.

Following the academy graduation, Officer Kristin Fuentes was sworn in by Los Angeles Airport Police Chief David Maggard. Officer Fuentes, a former TSA Playbook Team member, was known for her dedication to help passengers at LAX and the airport community. TSA management awarded her several on-the-spot awards for her strong work ethic. Chief Maggard said, "She will make a great addition to our department. Please join me in welcoming her as she begins a new adventure in this very honorable and humble profession".

Officer Fuentes will begins a six-month Field Training Program specific to aviation law enforcement under the guidance of a field training officer before being assigned to the Patrol Services Section.

In addition to 550 sworn officers, Los Angeles Airport Police Division also employs 430 security officers and nearly 200 civilian professional staff. As the largest aviation law enforcement agency in the nation, Airport Police patrols and secures Los Angeles International Airport, the Nation’s second busiest and world’s fourth busiest airport, and VNY general aviation airport.
