Los Angeles World Airports Welcomes End of Partial Federal Government Shutdown

STATEMENT FROM LAWA CEO DEBORAH FLINT

On behalf of the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners, Los Angeles World Airports and all of the employees and guests of Los Angeles International Airport and Van Nuys Airport, I extend my deepest gratitude to our federal colleagues who have been shining examples of gold-standard service in support of safe and efficient operations during this partial government shutdown. We know that many employees have experienced great hardship these past weeks, yet have continued to come to work and do their jobs with the highest level of professionalism. I am grateful to Mayor Garcetti, our City partners, our LAWA family, and the airlines, concessions, community members and businesses who have helped support our federal workers during the shutdown. Our food pantry and other resources, such as free trips on the FlyAway® bus, will continue until our federal colleagues receive the paychecks they have earned.

NOTE REGARDING DAILY STATUS UPDATES

In light of today's announcement from President Trump regarding the temporary end to the partial government shutdown, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) will no longer be sending daily reports on operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Please contact LAX Public Relations at 424-646-5260 with any questions.
