CIDH TEST PILE PROGRAM
LAWA ATMP Roadways Project

Monday, June 2 through Monday, July 18, 2025

May 29, 2025 - To facilitate work for the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Project (ATMP), please be advised that Cast-In-Drilled-Hole (CIDH) test piles will be constructed and tested at three sites during June and July 2025. This advisory is being provided as a preliminary notification of anticipated impacts, with updates to follow as work progresses.

IMPACTS & ACCESS
Anticipated impacts associated with the ATMP CIDH test pile program include increased noise levels and construction vehicles hauling excavated soils between sites during the construction phase. There will be no impact to the public during testing. There are no scheduled impacts beyond slight delays to vehicular or pedestrian traffic or access when soil is being hauled.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
The LAX Airfield and Terminal Modernization Project includes both airfield and terminal improvements that stay within the airport’s existing footprint, as well as landside (roadway) improvements that will help reduce airport-related congestion and back-ups on public streets. The CIDH test pile program is being performed to help develop a cost-efficient engineered foundation system for future construction.

SCHEDULE
ATMP CIDH test pile construction is scheduled for June 2 through June 30, with testing occurring through July 18. Construction fencing and Environmental Best Management Practices will be installed at all three sites from June 2 through June 6. Please use caution when traveling near construction areas
