LAWA NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PAID SUMMER INTERNS AT LAX AND VAN NUYS AIRPORTS

(Los Angeles, CA) Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is seeking college students who want to gain hands-on experience working in one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic industries to apply for paid summer internships at Los Angeles International (LAX) and Van Nuys (VNY) airports. These internships provide valuable career-relevant experience at two of the busiest airports in the world of their types. To be eligible, undergraduate and graduate students must be at least 18 years old and available to work at least 20 hours a week for 16 weeks. Hourly rates for these positions start at $16.77.

“One of the most thrilling and challenging environments for any career is at an airport, and we’re happy to offer these opportunities to students for the summer session,” said Paula Adams, Director of Airports Administration, LAWA. “We have a wide variety of internship opportunities, from administrative and airport operations to public relations and environmental sustainability, and we welcome all who are eligible to take advantage of them. Whether you're following your calling or still figuring out what works for you, we invite you to try it at LAX and VNY.”

The new online application, which is located at https://lawa.ninjagig.com/, is now available. Interested undergraduate and graduate students can apply for internships in areas including aviation management, business management, finance, transportation planning and engineering, public administration, information technology, law enforcement, public relations, finance, and more. Students do not need prior experience or coursework completed in a related field to be accepted for any offered internship.

Schedules are flexible, and determined between the intern and the supervisor.

One of the goals of the internships is to introduce our future leaders to careers in public service. It is hoped that they may pursue a full-time employment with LAWA after successful completion of their internship. Applications will be accepted through the LAWA Summer Internship website until Tuesday, April 30, and will be reviewed based on qualifications. Selected candidates will be scheduled for interviews by Monday, May 15.

Internships start May 28, and run through September 28, 2019.
