Advanced FEMA Training Courses

These are optional FEMA courses for "responders" to take if they want to learn more.

 Class Title  Description
 Advanced Professional Series (APS)   The ability to perform essential work in a disaster requires skills in emergency operations and management. These skills may be developed through this series of courses that offers "how to" training focused on practical information. This series emphasizes applied skills in disaster operations. management and coordination.
Continuity of Operations (COOP)    
 The Continuity Excellence Series is dedicated to recognizing and enhancing excellence in the development and implementation of Continuity programs. The series provides a currriculum for a certificate as either a Professional Continuity Practitioner (Level I) or Master Continuity Practitioner (Level II).
 EMI School Program  EMI offers school official courses supporting the implementation of NIMS as well as general courese aimed at building school emergency management capacity.
 Incident Command System / Unified Command System This course prepares participants to deliver EMI's ICS curricula. While ICS 100 and 200 courses are addressed, the major emphasis is on ICS 300 and 400.

 Master Exercise Practitioner Program  The Master Exercise Practitioner Program (MEPP) is a series of three courses (E0132, E0133, E0136) focusing on advanced exercise design, conduct, and evaluation practices in each phase of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program rel="noopener noreferrer" (HSEEP).
 Master Trainer Program (MTP)   The Master Training Program is designed to provide training professionals a means to acquire knowledge and skills in various areas of the training profession and at various levels of expertise. The program is comprised of seven seperate certificate programs, at basic through advanced and executive levels, in the areas of Instruction, Instructional rel="noopener noreferrer" Design, and Training Management.
 National Incident Management System (NIMS)   This course introduces and overviews the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental rel="noopener noreferrer" organizations to work together during domestic incidents
 National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program  

  This course helps promote the adoption of earthquake hazard reduction measures, helps development of maintenance information, including technical data on seismic risk and hazard reduction. It also improves the understanding of earthquakes and effects on communities
