How do I purchase a ticket?

You may purchase in person by credit/debit card, or online:

Can I buy a FlyAway ticket at LAX?

Tickets may be purchased at the bus or destination termination booth with Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit or debit cards.

Does FlyAway accept cash?

Currently, cash may be used to purchase tickets at Metrolink ticket machines located at Union Station. No other routes accept cash at this time. If asked to pay cash, please report the incident to

Do I need to print out a copy of my ticket to board the bus?

Union Station/Van Nuys routes
You can show the FlyAway driver either a hard copy or electronic copy of your confirmation email.

Hollywood/Westwood/Long Beach routes– no ticket via email
You will receive an email receipt. You can show the receipt from your phone or tablet or provide the confirmation number to the bus driver.

Are tickets good for any time?

Tickets are good for 30 days from the date of purchase and are good for any time of day. We are unable to provide extensions or refunds.

Can someone else other than the person whose name is on the ticket use the ticket?

Yes, a ticket may be used by anyone in its possession.

I inadvertently bought two FlyAway tickets, but I only need one, may I get a refund?

No, all sales are final. Tickets are valid 30-days from the date of purchase.

I was charged multiple times for one trip. Can I be refunded?

Are there senior discounts on the Fly Away from Union Station to LAX if you have a TAP card?

There are no direct senior discounts on the FlyAway but you can purchase an EZ pass for $42 and ride the FlyAway.

Does LAWA/LAX employee get a free ride on FlyAway Bus?

No. They are subject to normal fares. However, they have the option to purchase a monthly pass for $120. Employee monthly passes are available for purchase at:

Do you operate special holiday schedules?

Our regularly scheduled service operates during the holiday seasons. We do not decrease service during the holidays, however, if we add additional services the information will be posted on our website at

When should I arrive before my bus?

Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. For safety reasons, no boarding is permitted two minutes prior to bus departure.


Where does the FlyAway service?

The LAX FlyAway® buses offer convenient regularly scheduled* round- trips, seven days a week, between each terminal at LAX and following locations. Click on the route name to see exact location:

Where do I go to catch the FlyAway Bus at LAX?

At LAX, the FlyAway pickup is located at the arrival/lower level’s outer curb, under the green signage at each terminal. (See below)

Are children required to ride in a car seat on the FlyAway?

No, a car seat is not required. Parents can choose to hold babies on their laps and stow the car seat or opt to have the baby ride in the car seat on the bus.

Are FlyAway buses wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all FlyAway buses are wheelchair accessible.

Are animals allowed (e.g. dogs, birds) on the bus?

Trained service animals are allowed to accompany qualified customers with disabilities on the bus. A service animal should sit in the floor space in front of the customer's seat but cannot protrude into the aisles to comply with safety regulations. Non-service animals are required to be in a suitable carrier and must fit completely under the seat in front of the customer and remain there at all times.

Can you reserve a seat on the bus for a specific date and time?

The FlyAway bus service is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do the FlyAway buses have bathrooms?

No, buses are not equipped.
