Trevor Daley was appointed Deputy Executive Director and Chief of External Affairs for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) in June 2016. He oversees LAWA’s government affairs, public and media relations, and community relations activities.

Professional Experience

Prior to joining LAWA, Daley served for over 17 years as a trusted advisor and senior aide to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, culminating as the senator’s State Director responsible for four statewide offices and 30 staff members. He also served as the senator’s liaison to the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning) community.

A key strategist for Senator Feinstein on a number of federal, state and local issues, Daley focused on veterans affairs and played a key role in preventing the sale and privatization of the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He also helped secure $30 million in construction funds to develop long-term therapeutic housing for homeless veterans.

Prior to joining the senator’s team, Daley was a staff member for Los Angeles City Councilmember Ruth Galanter where, among other assignments, he served as the point person for Van Nuys Airport -- creating a dialogue between LAWA and a major tenant to foster agreement on lease issues that were thought to be unresolvable. He also facilitated the creation of a new vision for the Sepulveda Boulevard Task Force near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Daley provides advice and volunteer services to local non-profit organizations including the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Human Rights Campaign, A Community of Friends, Women Against Gun Violence, The Trevor Project, and Project Angel Food.

Education

An aviation enthusiast, Daley is a native of Arcata, California, and resides in Playa Vista. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of San Francisco.
