The Airport Police Division is a California P.O.S.T. certified agency. Airport Police Officers are Los Angeles City civil service employees. An Airport Police Officer is a sworn officer authorized to carry a firearm. They enforce federal, state and local laws and ordinances.
Airport Police Officers engage in law enforcement activities, which include uniformed foot and vehicle patrol. Airport Police Officers investigate crimes, effect arrests, write reports and testify in court. Airport Officers assist airline tenants and the traveling public at Los Angeles World Airports.
In addition to patrol, Airport Police Officers may serve in one of the following specialized units:
