Filing a Noise Complaint
If you would like to file a complaint about aircraft noise, you can contact us by calling our dedicated 24-hour number listed below or by filling out the online complaint form via the WebTrak application. When filing a complaint, be sure to provide your name, address, date and time of the noise event, and other essential information for us to effectively investigate and document your concerns.

Staff makes every effort to answer the line whenever possible. If no one is able to answer your call, please leave a detailed message. Please note that as of August 1, 2011, the area code was changed from 310 to 424.

The online complaint form can be accessed through the WebTrak application by clicking on the “Complaints” tab located on the top left hand corner, then the “Complaint Form” button.
Staff will investigate the complaint and provide a follow-up response to the resident via a letter, if a written response is requested. Due to limited staffing availability and the large volume of complaints received, complaint investigations are limited to 5 complaints per person per month. All complaints are recorded and included in the monthly reports, regardless of whether or not they were investigated.
Noise Complaint Monthly Report
The Aircraft Noise Community Response Report is a summary of LAX noise complaints received each month via the 24-hour noise complaint phone line, the noise complaint form on WebTrak, or directly from neighboring jurisdictions.
The report includes statistical and graphical information, such as the number of complaints by household and community, and the types of disturbances reported. Also included is descriptive information, such as specific aircraft operations that caused more than one household to report a noise complaint, and the results of the noise complaint investigations.
